  • The Norwegian company OCEANOR hires the vessel to start a program and anchor meteorological buoys for the Spanish National Harbour entity, Puertos del Estado. Buoys are placed around the Spanish coastline, Canary Islands coast and on international waters and data such as sea currents, salinity, wave height, wind strength, water temperature, etc. is recorded.

1993

  • The vessel is once more transformed into a hospital ship in order to participate again in the campaign providing hospital and support services for the tuna fishing fleet in the North Atlantic for the Instituto Social de La Marina.
  • Several sea floor research and sampling campaigns for fishing.
  • Campaign for the research of sand deposits for beach regeneration in the Spanish coastline.

1992

  • Campaigns similar to the previous one, sampling around the Spanish coastline in order to complete the localization of sand in the sea floor.
  • The Instituto Social de la Marina, hires for a second semester the hospital ship to provide sanitary support to the Spanish and French tuna fishing fleet in the North Atlantic
  • Campaign for the research of sand deposits for beach regeneration in the Spanish coastline.

1991

  • Part of the staff prepares their ship “Investigador” adapting it to the needs of the market.
  • The Dirección General de Costas hires the vessel at the end of the year for a 10-year campaing along the Spanish coastline: “Sea floor research for beach regeneration”.
